Farmers are planning a nationwide campaign to bring the matter to the attention of consumers. Research conducted just before Christmas shows that 78% of consumers would be prepared to pay a little more for quality-assured,high-welfare pork while 83% say they are prepared to do a little more to help farmers through this crisis.
The Pigs Are Still Worth It! campaign is promoted by BPEX with support from the NPA who have launched a nationwide banner campaign this month. The banners which display various messages and are being erected in farmers' fields adjacent to major transport routes to provide high visibility for the campaign.
