TV EXPOSURE FOR CAMPAIGN AS ARSENAL COME TO TOWN - THANKS TO QUALITY EQUIPMENT

Thanks to the generosity of Suffolk-based Quality Equipment, the current plight of pig farmers has been brought to national prominence. The company used its sponsorship of the Carling Cup Semi Final between Ipswich and Arsenal – shown live on Sky TV - to raise awareness of the plight of Suffolk Pig Farmers.

The company shared the front cover of the match programme and its allocated space on the stadium scoreboard to show both its own logo and the Pigs Are Still Worth It campaign logo. The scoreboard appears on TV screens before during and after the match – so millions of viewers would have seen the campaign logo.

A spokesman for QE before the match urged the crowd: “It may be a David-and-Goliath game but we think it will be worth watching the Tractor Boys taking on the Gunners and in so doing showing your support, not only for them, but also for the campaign!”

Suffolk pig farmer Jimmy Bulter of Blythburgh heaped praise on QE: “We are grateful to Quality Equipment for using their sponsorship of the Ipswich versus Arsenal match to raise awareness of such an important issue on the national stage,” he said.  “Pig farmers suffered huge losses due to sky-high feed prices two years ago and started the Pigs are Worth it Campaign to win a fair price from supermarkets.  The situation has now returned at a time when many of us have barely recovered.

“Shoppers have said time and time again that they are happy to pay a few pence more for high welfare, Red Tractor pork.   All we are asking for is that a fair price from the pork, bacon, sausages and ham sold in supermarkets is passed back down to farmers.  If this does not happen then many of us face the prospect of going out of business once again.

“We urge consumers to look for the Red Tractor on pork and pork products,” he added as he wished Ipswich the best of luck in the match.
